  • 51st Annual National Conference and 4th International Research Summit

The 51st Annual National Conference and 4th International Research Summit with the theme “Innovate to Elevate: Charting the Future of Global Business Education” organized by the Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools of Business (PACSB), in partnership with the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), Mater Dei College and Holy Name University was held at MetroCentre Hotel Tagbilaran City, Bohol from April 18 to 19, 2024. Ms. Jeannilyn P. Orating, OCC Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, and active member of PACSB represented OCC which is also an institutional member of the same organization.

  • 25th PSITE National Conference

It was a milestone for the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators as it celebrated its Silver Anniversary last March 23-25, 2023 with a nationwide conference and awarding ceremony for the organization officers. Held at the Widus Hotel and Casino, Clark, Pampanga, faculty members from more than 100 institutions across the Philippines participated in the 3-day event with Mr. Roel P. Malubay, BS Information Systems academic program head, and two (2) of its faculty members, Mr. Chester Glenn P. Crisostomo, and Engr. Raquel A. Cortez representing One Cainta College. The conference theme is “25 Years of Leading the Information Technology Education through Innovation and Transformation”.

The program started with a ribbon-cutting of the exhibits from PSITE’s loyal technology partner companies. Then, a series of topics for data science, computer networks, certification platforms, IT research & development, and current trends and innovations were discussed by reputable speakers from the academe and the IT industry. PSITE also conducted an election of officers who will lead the organization for the next three (3) years. A gala night was also held to award previous organization officers and have dinner fellowship with co-educators. The conference ended with a discussion of the proposed new curriculum for the BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Information Systems, and the newly organized program, BS Data Science.

  • 16th ALCU National Conference

The Association of Local Colleges and University successfully held its 16th National Conference at Quezon City University last January 26-27, 2023 with the theme “Reimagining Local Universities and Colleges (LUC) Leadership: Looking to the Future of Higher Education Institutions”. It was attended by hundreds of educators and officials from various local colleges and universities across the Philippines, including One Cainta College which was represented by the Director of the Office of the Research and Planning Extension, Dr. Mariam Fatima C. Sta. Ana, and Mr. Roel P. Malubay, the then Public Relations Officer I and Academic Program Head of the BS Information Systems program.

It was an impactful two-day conference highlighting the vision of the local colleges and universities to be formidable partners in promoting excellent quality of higher education, organizing internationalization programs, youth empowerment, community service engagement, and research & development. The keynote speakers include no less than Hon. Senator Emmanuel Joel Villanueva, Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City, and Hon. Representative Mark Go of the Lone District of Baguio City.
